Technical Committee

The WGKF Technical Committee supports the technical standards and practical development of karate within the federation. Its purpose is to help maintain consistency, clarity and quality across the different areas of karate recognised by WGKF.

Karate includes many areas of practice, from sports karate and competition rules to traditional karate, full contact karate, kata, kumite, technical performance and wider training principles. The Technical Committee helps support the interpretation, review and development of these areas so members can work from a clear and informed foundation.

This committee may support rules, event standards, coaching understanding, technical guidance, discipline development, karate syllabus awareness and communication with other commissions.

Strong technical direction helps a karate federation build trust. It shows that standards are being considered carefully and that members have access to guidance that supports fair participation, quality training and responsible development.

The Technical Committee works alongside the Referee Commission, Coaches Commission and Executive Committee to help WGKF maintain a professional and consistent approach to karate across its events, members and activities.
