About
The WGKF Association
The World General Karate Federation has been created to provide structure, support and opportunity for the wider karate community. We work with clubs, organisations, coaches, referees, athletes, officials and supporters who share a commitment to responsible karate development.
Our role is to help create a clear and professional environment where karate can grow through strong governance, fair rules, quality events and meaningful member support. WGKF recognises the importance of both tradition and progress, supporting sports karate, traditional karate, full contact karate and specialist areas such as kobudo.
The federation is supported by an Executive Committee, Administrative Team and specialist commissions covering refereeing, coaching, technical standards, inclusion and development. This structure helps ensure decisions are considered, responsibilities are clear and members have access to the right information.
At the heart of WGKF are the values of respect, integrity, discipline, fairness, inclusion and collaboration. We believe karate should be open to those who want to train, compete, teach, officiate or contribute in a positive and responsible way.
As a UK-based karate organisation with activity that can reach many locations, WGKF aims to build a strong national presence while supporting international connections, shared standards and wider karate opportunity.
