Kobudo Commission

The WGKF Kobudo Commission supports the study, preservation and responsible development of kobudo within the federation. Kobudo is a traditional weapon-based martial art closely associated with Okinawan practice, technical discipline and structured kata training.

This area of martial arts requires respect, safety, knowledge and careful instruction. The commission helps provide a clear point of reference for members interested in kobudo practice, demonstrations, seminars, technical guidance and future development within WGKF activity.

Kobudo may include traditional weapons such as bo, sai, tonfa and other recognised training tools, depending on the style and teaching context. WGKF recognises the importance of approaching this practice with seriousness and care, ensuring that safety, correct supervision and technical understanding remain central.
